Yuut
is the result of a brainstorming session between Yukon-Kuskokwim
Health Corporation CEO, Gene Peltola,
and U.S. Senator
for Alaska, Ted Stevens. Both acknowledged the lack
of vocational training opportunities designed to
meet the
needs of local residents and employers of the Yukon-Kuskokwim
Delta. The conversation soon manifested into a non-profit
corporation, supported significantly by nine local “partner” organizations.
Yuut Elitnaurviat, Inc. is turning the “dream” into
a tangible reality by creating numerous training
programs and constructing a 10-acre, state of the
art vocational
campus.
