Nikki Evon and Jacquie Wood GED Scholarship

The Greatest GED Story Ever Told

On December 31, 2013 the Greatest GED Story Ever Told took place in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta between the villages of Atmautluak and Nunapitchuk. You can read the full story here. This story impressed Randy Trask, the CEO of the GED Testing Service, so much that he made a $1,000 donation to the Bethel Regional ABE Program. That donation is being used to fund scholarships to pay GED Test fees for village students in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta.

To qualify for a test scholarship students must be from a village in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, have scored either “Likely to Pass” or “Too Close to Call” on the corresponding GED Ready test, and have shown that other financial aid resources have been exhausted. Scholarships will be awarded per subject test and will cover the full $30 test fee. Awarding preference will be given to students who will be offered employment immediately upon earning a GED or who have exceptionally high scores on the TABE pre-test or GED Ready.
